I can't get over the way
you love me like you do.

I know I've been basically MIA for the last month or so but I have reason to! I have no time for anything. My room still looks like a hurricane went through it so I obviously haven't progressed much.
Anyway, I took time out of my busy schedule and, as way for me to procrastinate on my already large pile of binders and textbooks waiting for me on my bed, I made an inspiration thingy. YAY.

Lo and behold, zee insparatshun.

James Dean, "Fame Is Boring" magazine cut out, Alice In Wonderland (SO excited for the movie), Lady Gaga, the stars reflecting off of icicles (I recommend looking it up. It's beautiful!), pretty lady with cool tights and an intense pocket watch, the sky at night (beaut), fireworks, SPACE (YUS!), MORE SPACE (DOUBLE YUS!), Chanel McD's, assorted pictures, newspaper cutouts, SPACE...AGAIN.

Cute, ain't it? Is it obvious that space is kind of amazing to me right now...?
Yeah...I didn't think so either. I should've put more. Dang nabbit.

Everyone I know goes away in the end.

Holy crap I have been so busy with school and friends and stuff it's ridiculous. I don't have time for anything anymore. Like cleaning my room. It's a total wreck in here. I'm just too busy/lazy to do anything. :(
I can't wait for this semester to end. It's so much work!

I'll be updating more often after next week is over because all my exams will be done! So just letting people know I am still alive. ;)

It seems like everywhere I go,
the more I see the less I know.

Bonjurno! As of today I have pretty much been healed from THE SWINE. I kid you not. I was bed ridden for days. I missed my best friends birthday because I couldn't leave my bed. It was such a mission to go to the bathroom and my room is right beside it. It was bad.
But I'm better now so it's okay!
On a brighter note, IT SNOWED TODAY. Which totally reminded me that Christmas is coming up. Which also reminded me that I need to sign up for my volunteering tomorrow when I leave the house for the first time in almost a week. YES! I wrap gifts at the local mall for a charity. I love it. It makes me so happy!
Ahhh, it's gonna be a good Christmas this year. Speaking of which, what's a good gift to get a boyfriend? Cause I have no idea. He got me a ring that has something engraved in it. Not saying what it is. Hahaha. Then he's getting me something else. I need to get something good. GOOGLE HERE I COME. :)

Before I go, I recommend you listen to this. Kid Cudi is a smart man.

K PEACE.

Do you realize that you
have the most beautiful face?

I know it's been awhile I'm sorry omg. :(
I haven't had time to do anything. Blaaah!
Anyway, thanks for all the comments broskis and siskis. 'Preciate it. :)

SO ANYWAY. I was thinking I would make a list of all the songs that I have been living off of for the past month or so.
Numero uno, KID CUDI. This man is a freaking genius! Legitly.

Secondly, Do You Realize by The Flaming Lips. My favouritest song right now. :)

Hayloft by Mother Mother. They are a Canadian band. Love them. This song especially. :)

I'll finish later. I should really stop holding off my project before I fail...
BYE.

This door is always open,
no one has the guts to shut us out!

32- God Save the Queen!

I haven't been on Polyvore in a LOOOOONG time so I decided to check what's new. That's where I came up with this. I decided I would make a inspiration-y collage of a few things I would probably kill for. Then I got kind of greedy and added like, ten million things. OOPS. That's what happens when you deprive yourself of Polyvore.

Left to right:
Chanel tshirt
Mike & Chris- washed leather jacket
Obesity and Speed- ripped grey tshirt
Vince- dark grey cashmere sweater
Philippe Audibert Manchette- gold plated bracelet
Nina Peter- studded gloves
Osman Yousefzada- blue suede wedges
Kai- jeans
The Sak- green shoulder bag
H&M- faux fur vest
Elizabeth and James- oversized plaid blouse
Topshop- brown studded boots
All Saint's- brown military-inspired boots
Alexander McQueen- studded ring
Chloe- white studded boots
Opening Ceremony- suede lace up boots
John Hardy- black and gold cuff
New York Doll- lace up studded boots

Long enough list? I didn't notice how much was on it until I realized it took me 20 minutes to write it out.
I need a job...for serious. :(
And I need a cameraaaaaa. DANG I'M POOR.

On happier (?) note, I'm looking for some new music. I love bands like The Smiths, Kings of Leon and The Strokes. And I love artists like Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Mika.

Any suggestions?! :)

Won't you say that you love me
all of the time?

I'm loving music from back in the day. When I say back in the day I'm talking about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
I first started loving these songs after I watched Stand By Me (which is my favourite movie EVER) and I heard songs from Buddy Holly and the Del Vikings, which I loved. Then I started exploring older music and fell inlove with these songs. They are so amazing. It's like, you hear these songs and you think about all the good things because most of these songs are really really happy songs. I love it! :)

For those of you who haven't seen Stand By Me, I really do recommend it. It's a great coming-of-age story. Probably the best I've ever come upon. And River Phoenix (my favourite actor, God bless his soul) is in it. He does SUCH a good job. I fell in love with him after this movie. :)

Here's the trailer! :)

I am IN LOVE with all that 50's inspired stuff. Just the whole feel that the generation gives off is amazing.
I wish I could live back then. Everything was so much...nicer. :)
I would definitely call the 50's one of my biggest inspirations for everything. Stand By me is also in that group.
What is your favourite generation and why?
Like I said, I love the 50's because of the overall feel. The music, the lifestyle, the fashion. Everything.
:)

Light up, light up,
as if you have a choice.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. I'M EXCITED. OMG. :D

This weekend is (so far) sooooo fun. Went out last night, going out tonight and tomorrow. Then school. :(
But that's okay because this weekend is going to own. YES.

So, for my birthday I know I'm getting a flask from my friend and it's going to be all engraved. I think it's pretty sick. And my parents bought me tickets to go see LMFAO in concert. NOW I am SUUUUPER EXCITED for that. They are freaking AH MAZING. Okay well...not like OMG AMAZING like the Beatles and the Smiths, but still...best party music ever.
OH. If you find swearing, sexual refrences and/or inapproriate-ness offensive, I suggest you don't listen to these. :)

YES- LMFAO

I'm in Miami, Bitch- LMFAO

La La La- LMFAO

Shooting Star- Kevin Rudolf, Pitbull, David Rush & LMFAO

Shots- LMFAO feat. Lil' Jon

I love me some LMFAO. ;)

I am the last of the famous
international playboys!

Okay so I finally did my summer soundtrack yesterday and I posted it on the side under "Tunes".
Feel free to listen to it! I love it. :)

Oh, and I also made an inspiration collage. I actually enjoyed creating it too!

Taylor Momsen, polaroids, Mary-Kate Olsen, studs, The Ramones,
Chanel, leather, Chloe Sevigny, Interpol, Edie Sedgewick, Paris.
And then music, art and fashion of course. I tried to fit The Smiths in there, but I couldn't find any space for it. :(
I love The Smiths.
And the song Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys makes me think of New York which also reminds me of the night life which also is a source of inspiration. I love the New York and Paris night life.
What are your inspirations? :)

Teenage dream in a teenage circus,
running around like a clown on purpose.

So apparently nobody likes Woodstock. I thought that was pretty interesting. But whatever. :P
Anyway, almost every night, even when I go out, I will come home an watch tv at like, 4 in the morning. I go to all the music channels (there are a lot) to find new music. So, the other night, it was like, 3:30ish in the morning, and I went to this one channel and I saw Mika's new single. For those of you who don't know, Mika is a an artist, orgionally from Lebanon, but out of London. He made the incredibly catchy tune "Grace Kelly". Yeah, ring a bell now? I have always been a fan of Mika, ever since his first album "Life In Cartoon Motion". He had some pretty great songs, which I reccommend you check out. If you want to check them out, I posted some of his videos at the bottom of this post. Anyway, so I saw this video for his new single "We Are Golden" from his new record "The Boy Who Knew Too Much" and of course I loved it. He is such a great musician and I don't know how he isn't as big as the Jonas Brothers.

Videos from his first single, "Life In Cartoon Motion":

3. Lollipop (this is my favourite off his first album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F99IuKUCAc4

Video from his second album, "The Boy Who Knew Too Much"

1. We Are Golden

Great song! It's one of those songs that you listen to and it makes you incredibly happy. I listen to it in the morning and I'm happy for like, the whole day. :P

Anyway, I'm going out for the night with some friends. PEACE.

Acting funny, but I don't know why.
Excuse me while I kiss the sky.

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I've been really incredibly busy. But I'm back. So it's all good. Anyway, it's 11:31PM and in 29 minutes it will be the 40 year anniversary of Woodstock. Now I think that's pretty amazing that's it's been 40 years since that historical concert took place and I really wish they could do it again. But I know for a fact it would not be the same. Not even close.

1 2 3 4 5

PS: As of 12 minutes ago, it is the 40th anniversary. How fun. :O

And if a double decker bus crashes into us,
to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die.

WOW, I have the BIGGEST obsession with The Smiths right now. I've always liked them, but I'm like, in love with them now. :O
THEY ARE SO FREAKING GOOD. And along with my obsession with them, I also love Kings of Leon. I was listening to their album. On repeat. For three days. The song "Closer" is SO good (kind of reminds me of True Blood...which is also an amazing show!) and "Notion" is also really good. :D
Listen to them. Seriously. SO GOOD. OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!11!!!!1!

OH! One more person. Okay, so. I noticed that everytime Kanye West comes out with a new song, I love it. Even if he's just collaborating with an artist (like "Ego" by Beyonce featuring Kanye), I love it. I just love his voice and his cocky-ness and like, everything. So I was listening to my sisters Kanye West cd because well, I don't buy CD's, and I also listened to that on repeat before my KOL obsession. I like "Streetlights" the mostestest. ;)

Check it out. I love it! :D
His songs are the ones that you hear years from now and remember where you were when you heard it and you connect them back to the good ol' days. ;)

Tonight, you arrested my mind.

Oh hai. :)
I have realized that I will probably always miss Jay everytime I think of him, and right now, that seems to be often. It's hard to go through all of this while everyone else is just living. I'm not going to lie, it holds me back a lot. But I'm working on it. I've improved a lot since the beginning. I can just imagine what his family feels though. Lately, I've been wondering what he was thinking and what he was doing while he was preparing to do what he did. And I know that sounds pretty terrible, but I really want to know how down he must have been to go through with that. I mean, he must have been pretty badly off to go and do that. He wasn't one for being sad...
And of course there is a commercial about depression playing right now. Goooood timing.
Things are going to be a little slow for a bit considering all that's been going on.
So, sorry if it takes ten years to update. I will try to atleast twice a week, but I can't make any promises.
I think you should listen to this song. It's a really good song. It's called "Belief" by Gavin Degraw. It's not my usual thing, but I heard it on So You Think You Can Dance and I thought it was pretty amazing.
That's all for now. Bye! :)

Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Let's get drunk and ride around,
and make peace with an empty town.

Hello! I'm just making a quick update. I've been uber busy with actually having a life. :P
I'm starting to feel better and I've actually been waking up early. Ish. 12:30 in the afternoon. That's better than waking up at 4. So yeah. Improvements. :D

So there's this really epic free concert that a local radio station is hosting on Saturday. It's going to be SO sick. I'm excited. :D
There's going to be bands like Stereos, The New Cities, Finger Eleven, Shiloh, The Midway State and Marianas Trench. OOOOH. Best line up they've had so far. :D

Anywho, I'll probably update later. Maybe.
I'm going to my friends house to go hot tubbing. :D
YAY. Bye! :)

Saturday, July 18, 2009

Oh darling, if you leave me,
I'll never make it on my own.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. I WANT DOC MARTEN'S SO BAD. GKA;FJG;AKJG;!

I've always liked them, but I never really thought I would wear them. But after seeing Agyness Deyn and Daisy Lowe sporting them, I've kind of fallen in love with them all over again.

They are SO sick. These floral ones especially. I need a job. So I can buy them and wear the crap out of them. They are a beauty. :D
I was looking at the white ones in this, but they aren't as...grungy to me. I love grungy. :P
I can definitely see myself wearing these with black tights, a black skirt, a graphic tee and a leather jacket. With a gold watch and lots of rings. :D
I like it...

Oh, and if you like Kings of Leon, I recommend checking out their latest single "Notion". It's SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO good. Well, I love it.

Don't it always go to show,
you never know what you got 'til it's gone.

Things just couldn't be the same,
'cause I'm as free as a bird now.

Good morning/afternoon, sunshines. If you're like me, you just woke up. And if you're like me, the first thing you do in the morning is check your blog (coughnerdcough).
Two things.
1) I'm obsessing over music that was made before I was born, which happens a lot. Right now I'm listening to Your Love by the Outfield. I recommend you listen to it because it's awesome. Why not help you out? Here's the video.

Great stuff right hur.

And 2)
Did anyone else read about Oscar de la Renta hating on Michelle Obama? Yeah, no joke. He's saying how he thinks that although it's great that she's helping the smaller designers such as Jason Wu and Isabel Toledo, that the high end designers need some loving too, especially in these hard economic times. Because apparently it's effecting the designers who charge hundreds of dollars for one piece.
Oscar de la Renta was quoted saying "American fashion right now is struggling...I think I understand what they (as in Obama and her stylist lady) are doing, but I don't think that is the right message at this particular point....I don't object to the fact that Mrs. Obama is wearing J. Crew to whatever because the diversity of America is what makes this country great. But there are a lot of great designers."
Donna Karan said, "I hope and believe that this is just a moment...And I hope to be able to dress her, and not only dress her but address her, sit down -- I'm interested in her totality as a woman."
Unlike my homeboy, Oscar, Vera thinks that what she's trying to do is great, stating, "I love seeing young designers and their vision and how they grow and all of that. On the other hand, of course, I wish she would consider some of us, because I think we also have contributions to make."
Love her. (:
I thought about what Mr. De la Renta said and although it's hating on Mrs. Obama, I still love him because well, he makes the best dresses in the world. Well, maybe besides Valentino. But whatevs.
Oh, and Oscar also said, and I don't know why I laughed about this, 'You don't...go to Buckingham Palace in a sweater."
LOL @ OSCAR!

That's all because I'm too lazy to do anything else right now. KBYEEEEEEEE! :D
PS. I'm now listening to Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd and I think you should do the same. Since I'm such a nice person, I'm going to give you the link. You're welcome. :)

If I'm not back at this time tomorrow,
carry on, carry on.

Kickin' it old school. I feel very 80's today (if the 80's had a feeling, I would be feeling it). Go QUEEN. :) ♥

(made by me)
I LOVE this man. He was an AMAZING singer, no?

I'm so lacking in fashion inspiration right now, it's not even funny. INSPIRE ME!

PS. Sorry for the terrible posting. I have 2 projects to do. One due on Monday and the other on Tuesday. Kind of a big deal. So...BYEEEEEE.

You spin my head right round, right round,
when you go down, when you go down down.

That song has been stuck in my head for the past 36 hours. :

Anyways. I went shopping in Toronto today. Up until today, I wanted to move there so bad. Not anymore. I learned two things today.
1) Torontonians are very rude.
2) They like to wear their pants very low. Very low.
If I had a dime for every person I saw with their pants down to their knees...I would have approximately $7.50. But that's just a guesstimate.

But on a brighter note, I bought stuff. Only three things from H&M, but still. I BOUGHT STUFF! ( :
1) A jersey skirt with gold buttons
2) A scoop neck dress
3) A grey tank top (I know, not that great. But I wanted it.)
I'll take pictures as soon as I get ahold of that bloody camera. Really. Where the hell did I put that thing? I had it like, 2 months ago. I just don't know where. Hmmm?

There are three possibilities (have you noticed that I like lists?):
1) I left it at my resort when I went on vacation
2) It's somewhere in the mess I call a room
3) It's lost in a dark abyss of time and space
I'm pretty sure it's number three.

Speaking of dark abyss, I need to organize my closet. God knows where I'm going to start or how I'm going to do this, but it is a mess. Holy. That has got to change. That should be my New Years resolution. Is it too late for one of those?
It's the times like these that I wish I didn't have a minimum-wage-part-time job and a small closet. If I had the money, I would hire someone to do it for me. But since I don't, I'll hire my mom to do it for me. Cause she loves me. Or atleast I like to think so.
Y'know, I think I hear her calling me now. Oh yeah, that's definitely her. It's loud, annoying and I can hear the accent. Oh boy.
Lovely.
